For the fourth year in a row the North Carolina Department of Justice is sponsoring a student video contest to help educate young people about the dangers of prescription drug abuse. All North Carolina students enrolled in grades 6 - 12 are eligible to enter the contest, which runs from March 1st through April 15th. As part of North Carolina's accountability model, all AHS Juniors will take the ACT on Tuesday, March 17, 2015. The testing will be held at the school with room assignments to be determined. There is no fee or registration necessary.
Do you want to be part of a nationally recognized IT academy? If you are assigned to attend Apex High School next year you can be part of the Academy of Information Technology. Academy students learn technical skills like computer programming, web development and video production. As an academy student you will also learn teamwork, communication and presentation skills and have fun doing it. The time period to apply to the academy will start the week of February 2nd.
