NTHS Membership

Membership applications for the National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) will be available in Student Services from October 1 – 15, 2014. October 17, 2014 is the deadline for submitting applications. The induction for new members will be Thursday, November 6, 2014, at 7:00pm in the Auditorium.

Membership Criteria: Junior or Senior, 3.0 GPA unweighted, a grade of A in at least two CTE classes, and CTE teacher recommendation.

Senior Cap and Gown Information

On Wednesday, October 8, we will have a senior class meeting in the gym to receive information about how and when to order your cap and gown and graduation announcements.
On Monday, October 20 and Tuesday, October 21, Herff Jones will visit our school to accept your order and payment. They will be in the gym lobby during the lunches until 2:30 on both days to accept orders. Parents may visit to place an order after lunches end at 12:40 until 2:30.
On Monday, March 30 and Tuesday, March 31, Herff Jones will deliver the caps and gowns and graduation announcements in the gym lobby during the lunches.

Davidson College: John Montgomery Belk Scholarship

Selection process the Belk Scholarship begun. Students need to be nominated for this scholarship. If you are interested in being nominated, please see your counselor. All nominations are due November 7th or as soon as possible. This scholarship is highly competitive, for students demonstrating superior intellectual and personal achievement and significant leadership ability.

Standards for NCAA Division I Sports

Junior PSAT Registration Information

The PSAT Test Date is October 15th in the Cafeteria. Juniors can register to take the PSAT beginning Wednesday, September 10th through Thursday, October 2nd.
To sign-up you need to pay $14.00 online or in person (10TH GRADERS TAKE THE PSAT AT NO CHARGE)
You can pay online using Online School Payments beginning September 10th. (Click the Online School Payments Link to the right.)
If you prefer, you can pay by submitting your check or money order (payable to AHS) in person to Student Services.
Please stop by Student Services to pick up the the student guide after you have signed up.

New School Bus Route Information

This is a message from the Wake County Public School System for families at traditional calendar schools who will ride the bus to school. With the new school year, bus locations may change based on the students on the route.

Bus stop locations will be posted online Monday, August 18 at www.wcpss.net/transportation Click the bus routes link.

Look for your school on this page and click the link to find the school’s bus routes. Find the intersection nearest your residence. Be at the stop 10 minutes prior to pick up.

Families that do not have access to the internet should check their bus routes with their school.

We encourage parents to review bus safety and their family bus plan with their children to get the new school year off to a great start

NC State Fair Tickets

As part of a partnership between WCPSS and the State Fair, schools will receive $2 for every adult ticket sold and $1 for each children's ticket if the tickets are purchased online using the Apex High School code 316. Transcript Request Process

For Current Seniors:

  1. Transcripts requests for North Carolina colleges and universities should be requested through www.cfnc.org
  2. Transcript requests for Out of State colleges and universities as well as Counselor Recommendations should be requested at the front office of Student Services

For Former Students and All Other Requests:

(Including documents to apply for a new social security card or for DMV)

  1. Go to: wcpss.net
  2. Click on "Get Student Transcripts"
  3. Click on "Request Transcripts and Student Records"
  4. Click on the first option if you are a current student, second option if a former student
  5. Follow the prompts

NTHS Tutors

The National Technical Honor Society (NTHS) will help with every subject. Send an email to nthstutors@gmail.com with your name, subject(s) to be tutored in, and when you want to be tutored (before school, after lunch, or during lunch…indicate your lunch period).

  • Please keep ALL scholarship offers (accepted or unaccepted) and bring to Student Services for senior awards and end of year reporting.
  • Athletes: Make sure you have registered with NCAA (www.eligibilitycenter.org) if you plan on playing a college sport. Make sure to send your SAT scores from College Board to the NCAA Clearinghouse (Code 9999).
  • A Financial Aid Advisor, will be at Apex HS to help parents and students with Financial Aid questions and concerns. Appointments can be made by calling 387-2215.
