About Apex DECA
First of all, DECA is a non-profit organization. It stands for "an association of marketing students." Our local chapter is based at Apex High School, in Apex, NC. (This is by Raleigh). Last year our chapter had about 180 students. That breaks down as follows: 50% seniors, 40% juniors, and 10% sophomores. This year our chapter president is Heather, and our vice presidents are Grant, Sarah, Abby, and Robert.
Our advisors are Mr. Murphy and Mrs. Simons. Mr. Murphy has been here at Apex for eight years, but has taught marketing for longer than that.
Our Awards
Last year, Apex DECA brought A LOT of students to state competition in Greensboro, NC. In fact, Apex DECA took home four first-places. Even better, 17 students qualified for international competition in Orlando, Florida, which is great considering the relatively small size of our chapter. One student even had her paper win top sixteen in the nation!
