DECA Competitions
During the 2003-2004 school year, Apex DECA competed on the State and International levels. The results of the competitions are as follows:

State Competition - Greensboro, Febuary 26-28, 2004
Chapter receives the Gold Diamond Chapter Activities Award - this is the highest chapter award given by the North Carolina Deca.

The following students won in their respective categories:

Apparel & Accessories - Melissa Murdock - Overall Finalist.

Full Serve Resturant Management - Monica Miller - Overall Finalist.

Quick Serve Resturant Management - Christina Abruzzini - Overall Finalist.

E-Commerce Management Team - Shawn Turnau and Cameron Hargrove - Overall Finalists.

Sports and Entertainment marketing team - Grant Miser and Rob Goldman - 2nd Place in the State.

Entrepreneurship Written Event - Heather Oakley - 6th Place in the state, Dayna Jacobsen - 3rd Place in the state, and Andrew Trull - 1st Place in the state.

Free Enterprise Project - Christina Abruzzini, Dominique Lashley and Kyle Zachary - 2nd Place in the state.

Hospitality and Recreation Marketing Research Event - Rob Goldman, Grant Miser, and Jamie Neblett - 6th Place in the state.

International Business Plan - Sid Subramanian - 1st place in the state.

Public Relations Project - Heather Oakley, Shawn Turnau and Cameron Hargrove - 2nd Place in the State.

Retail Marketing Research Event - Jessica Ullian - 1st place in the State.

NC DECA Program Cover Competition - Christian Abruzzini won this for the second year in a row.


International Competition - Nashville, TN - April 26-May 1, 2004
The Following students won Awards of Excellence:
Andrew Trull - Entrepreneurship Written
Sid Subramanian - International Business Plan
Jessica Ullian - Retail Marketing Research Event
Rob Goldman and Jaime Neblett - Top 20 in the Nation in sports marketing team.


The Competitions for the 2004 - 2005 school year are as follows:
District Competition - Cary, NC - January 6, 2005
State Competition - Greensboro, NC - March 10 - 12, 2005
International Competition - Anaheim, CA - April 26-May 1, 2005.
